Abstract

[Also in Division F4] In a drier for light material e.g. wood chips (see Division F4) coarse particles are discharged downwardly from a drum 1 through a shaft 5 and the rest are removed upwardly by suction, the lightest and medium particles being removed through pipes 16, 17 respectively by different negative pressures created therein by adjustable fans 46, 47. Drying medium removed at separators 36, 37 is recirculated by the fans to a pipe 15, to remove lighter particles adhering to the coarse particles, and to the drum 1. The particles are admitted through an inlet 11.
