Abstract

1,016,110. Curving. BALDRINI S.p.A. June 28, 1963 [Nov. 19, 1962], No. 25847/63. Heading B3E. A machine for bending or curving sheets to obtain conical workpieces includes forming rollers between which the sheet is curved and supplementary rollers engaged by the edge of the sheet, the supplementary rollers being mounted on the bearings of those forming rollers which are tiltable. A sheet 7 is bent to conical form by passage between an upper roller 2 and driven lower rollers 3, the edge of the sheet 7 bearing on supplementary rollers 8 carried by bearings 5, Fig. 6 (not shown), of the rollers 3. The bearings 5 are displaceable along guides 6 to tilt the rollers 3 so that the curved sheet may be removed from the roller 2. The rollers 8 may be smooth or knurled, rotatable or not, fixed or dismountable, tilting with the bearing or independently thereof. In acknowledged prior art, Fig. 1 (not shown), the supplementary rollers 8 are mounted on fixed shoulders 1 of the machine and not on the bearings 5 of the rollers 3.
