Abstract

1,015,941. Electromagnetic switches. AMERICAN MACHINE & FOUNDRY CO. May 24, 1963 [June 15, 1962], No. 20850/63. Heading H2B. A ratchet-and-pawl mechanism rotates a cam-shaft in steps on successive energizations on the relay. The pawl 39 rotates the ratchet wheel 32, which is mounted on the cam-shaft, only during the return stroke of armature 3. The cam-shaft 7 carries three cams 46, 56, 62, which pass between the blades 41, 42; 49, 50; 51, 52, respectively, of three contact spring sets. Each set is biased closed by the resilience of the blades and is opened when a radial arm of the associated cam, such as arm 47, cooperates with V-shaped indentations, such as 44, 45, on the blades.
