Abstract
1,015,838. Supporting water-tube steam boilers; tube walls for furnaces. LA MONT INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION Ltd., and H. VORKAUF. Sept. 4, 1964 [Nov. 2, 1963], No. 36258/64. Addition to 1,009,034, Headings F4A and F4B. In the steam boiler described in the parent Specification in which the vertical combustion chamber 1 and adjoining gas pass 9 are encircled by fluid cooled ring frames 11, the ring frames are further reinforced to withstand the internal pressure within the combustion chamber 1 by support beams 17 which are attached to the ring frames and/or the tube wall 2. The outer free edge of the support beam 17 is supported by vertical tie-rods 18 which are fluid cooled to keep the support beams 17 at approximately the same temperature as the ring frames 11. The tie-rods 18 may be made of tubes or solid rods closely enclosed with cooling tubes. In a modification the tie-rods 18 alternately support the outer free edge and the inner edge of the support beams 17.
