Abstract

1,022,348. Tube walls for furnaces; steam generators; superheaters. SIEMENSSCHUCKERTWERKE A.G. Oct. 31, 1962 [Nov. 2, 1961], No. 41278/62. Headings F4A and F4B. The combustion chamber wall of a oncethrough steam generator includes evaporator tubing 4, 6, insulation material 16a (Fig. 3, not shown), sheet-metal cladding 12a, and horizontal encircling girders 12 all of which together with a burner box 8 housing excess pressure firing means are supported from vertical channel members 10 which extend the height of the combustion chamber and are suspended at the upper end from a suitable frame. In the lower region of the combustion chamber up to the level 5 at about two-thirds its full height the evaporator tubes 4 are each wound about the chamber in inclined manner and thereafter rise vertically as outlet tubes 6. The flat faces of the channel members 10 contact the outer surfaces of the evaporator tubes and support the tubes by pins 15, Fig. 3, welded to the tubes. In the upper region horizontallydisposed sinuously-coiled radiant superheater tubes 7 are suspended on horizontal pins 16, Fig. 3, welded to tubes 6, the construction allowing for horizontal displacement of the superheater tubes due to differential expansion. The sheet-metal cladding 12a is protected in this region between groups of outlet tubes 6 by a layer of insulation material of the same thickness as the diameter of the tubes 6.
