Abstract

1,015,722. Fence posts. A. BRAMLEY. June 19, 1963 [June 27, 1962], No. 24739/62. Heading E1B. A fencing post comprises a resiliently flexible rod 20 formed of an electrically insulating synthetic resin and has at one end an open loop for the reception of an electrified fencing wire and at the other end a relatively rigid spike 23 for insertion into the ground. As particularly described, the part 20 is of solid or tubular polyvinyl chloride and the spike 23 is of steel. The post may be fitted into a separate metal base plate 24, which rests on the ground and is cruciform or disc-shaped, or the post may be fitted to a triangular plate embedded vertically into the ground. Various tools are described which are used to insert the post into the ground using the foot and to mate with these the part 20 may be in two separable parts; or is suitably grooved near its lower end.
