Abstract
852,801. Fencing. STOKES & SONS Ltd., J. Jan. 8, 1959, No. 716/59. Class 45. [Also in Groups XXV and XXXVI] Electrifiable wire fencing comprises insulators of polythene or like plastic having hollow base parts 101 adapted to be pressed socket-wise on to fencing posts, or which are moulded thereon. Each insulator has a cylindrical eyed head 102 containing a metal sleeve 11 retained therein by tongues 111 bent into recesses provided in head 102. The head 102 and sleeve 11 have aligned slots 104 and 112, respectively, for insertion of the fencing wire into the eye 103. The slots are inclined such that the wire is retained within the head without risk of dislodgement so long as the wire is maintained in tension. Instead of being straight the inclinedslot in the head may be, e.g. sinuous.
