Abstract

754,049. Insulators. ROANOID PLASTICS, Ltd., and RICHARDSON, T. H. July 7, 1955 [July 9, 1954], No. 20114/54. Class 36. An insulator made of deformable elastic material such as polythene comprises a wireengaging portion 7 and a clamping portion 6 having separable jaws 10 which are caused to grip a post 11. The portion 6 may have one or more transverse openings 8 interconnected by a slot 9 and may be closed about the post by a screw 12. The portion 7 comprises a ring 13 having a gap 14 through which wire 16 can pass, preferably only on deformation of the arms forming the ring. The portions 6, 7 may be separated by a disc 15 which increases the leakage path.
