Abstract

1,015,344. Sliding doors for vehicles. A.C. CARS Ltd. Sept. 11, 1964 [Sept. 11, 1963], No. 35822/63. Heading B7J. An invalid car sliding door 18 is pivoted, for limited movement, at 16, 17, Figs. 1 and 2, about a substantially horizontal axis on a tubular metal frame 12, 13, 14, 15 to which are welded plates 9, 10, 11 carrying rollers 5, 6 and 8, respectively, which engage parallel tracks 4, 7 welded to the vehicle longitudinal chassis members 1, 3 below the floor of the vehicle. The plates 9, 10, 11 also carry rollers 20, 21, 22, respectively, to engage below the tracks (see Fig. 1). Pivotal movement of the door is limited by its engagement with abutment surfaces 19 carried by the frame members 12, 13. When in the closed position, sliding movement of the door 18 is prevented by a locking- pin 23 thereon engaging in a hole in the chassis member 1.
