Abstract
1,012,331. Releasable fastenings. W. A. HIBBERT. Oct. 22, 1962 [Nov. 22, 1961], No. 41852/61. Heading E2A. An arm 1 is adapted at one end to be rigidly secured to the meeting bar 5 of one of a pair of vertically sliding sash windows in such a manner that it extends between the meeting bars and is slidably received in an aperture in a plate 9 which is adapted to be fixed to the other meeting bar 14 so that it is normal to the arm, locking means 7 carried by the plate being operable in a direction parallel to the plate to co-operate with the arm in such a manner that the means may either slide relative to the arm within limits imposed by the length of the arm to limit the extent of the opening movement of the sashes or immovably engage the arm to lock the sashes together in the closed or an adjusted open position. The locking means comprises a clamping screw which passes through a longitudinal slot 6 in the arm and is threaded into a lug 8 welded to the plate.
