Abstract

1435081 Stay devices; door closers M D BROWN P E BROWN and P E BROWN [trading as J & E BROWN] 24 Aug 1973 [20 July 1972] 34003/72 Headings E2F and E2M A stay device, preferably for use in conjunction with a door closer mechanism 13, comprises a mounting 18 for attachment to a door frame and pivotally linked to a block 29 (by a bolt 17 which engages in bore 30), a stay arm 15 one end portion 20, of which slidably receives the block 29 and which carries an abutment 25, a spring loaded element 36 which biasses portion 20 toward the pivot, and a keeper 24 secured in a fixed position relative to the mounting 18 and having jaws 26, 27 defining an opening into which abutment 25 can latch (against the bias of element 36). The angular position of keeper 24 is adjustable and portion 20 is telescopically adjustable in stay arm 15. The bolt 17 engages in an internally threaded member 33 which can be rotated from below via opening 31.
