Abstract

1,012,138. Rolling. SIEMAG SIEGENER MASCHIENENBAU G.m.b.H. June 20, 1962 [July 3, 1961], No. 23663/62. Heading B3M. Tilting apparatus for rolled material includes a pair of relatively movable tilting heads 2 and 3 which are carried on a frame 14 which itself is supported by two levers pivotally mounted on a movable framework. The heads are pivotally held in the frame and are interconnected by toothed segments 7 and 8. An hydraulically operated lever 31 acting on an arm 5 moves the heads towards and away from each other, the different lengths of the two segments 7 and 8 causing the head 2 to be moved to a greater extent than head 3. The frame 14 is turned by a lever 19 which is rotated about an axis X by an hydraulic piston and cylinder assembly by means of links 17 and 23 pivotally attached to extremities 13 and 15 of the frame. An end 25 of the link 23 is located through a link 26 with the framework 1 at an axis Y. Thus the motion of the frame is determined by the positions of axes X and Y and of the linkwork. Electric motors or electromagnets may replace the hydraulic pistons. Adjustable bushes 26 at the axis Y allow changes in the tilting axis.
