Abstract
1355597 Gate assembly SIGMA-TAU INDUSTRIE FARMACEUTICHE RIUNITE SpA 19 July 1972 [22 July 1971] 33830/72 Heading E2M A gate assembly comprises two bars 4 pivotable on horizontal shafts 12 by an actuator 3 between a raised position (shown) and a lowered position; a body portion 21 carrying the bars being rotatable about a vertical axis on a base 20 by a rotary actuator 1 and further actuators 2 being provided to move the bars on their shafts along the axis of their shafts toward and away from the portion 21. As shown the actuators are pneumatically operated and linked to a pneumatic control system (Fig. 3 not shown) which controls them in sequence to unblock one opening then more to block a second opening. The assembly may be operated electrically, hydraulically, electro-pneumatically, oleodynamically, or electropleodynamically. The actuator 3 is shown as a piston and cylinder mechanism, acting through rod 11 on the upper bar with rods 5 pivoted to both bars to transmit movement to the lower bar, but may be in the form of a rotary actuator.
