Abstract
A suction unit for collecting and removing strippings from the flats stripping or cleaning brush of a carding-engine (in addition to collecting and removing dust and fly liberated at the stripping brush station) is mounted in a position below and adjoining to the brush so that the strippings fall in close proximity to the ends of inlet pipes according to the parent Specification and are drawn thereinto by the suction in the pipes. A cover plate extends upwardly from the unit to prevent escape of dust and fly from the brush. The pipes may be partially enclosed by a plate and terminate in upwardly directed flared ends to collect the strippings, Fig. 3 (not shown).
