Abstract

1,005,718. Buckles. STADIUM Ltd. Aug. 28, 1962 [Aug. 11, 1961], No. 29090/61. Heading E2A. A buckle for a belt comprising a body member 2 including a clamping surface 18 and two side flanges, a rod 14 supported by the flanges so that it cannot rotate but so that it can be moved in a direction transverse to its length along the flanges and so that when it is moved in one direction it forms a clamp with the clamping surface for a length of belt passed round the rod and means for enabling the rod to be moved manually to a position along the flanges such that the length of belt is not clamped. As shown the rod 14 engages in sloping slots 15 in the flanges and it is moved by means of buttons on the ends of the rod. In a modification a strap is attached to the ends of the rod to enable it to be moved. The buckle can be formed with means for engaging a metal tongue on the other end of the belt.
