Abstract

[Also in Division A4] A connector for securing a strap loop to another part comprises a body having a pair of spaced jaws 17 which can be inserted into the loop, the jaws being bridged by a bridging member 20 which is detachably held in position by a roller 22 and which has an interference fit between the jaws. The diameter of the roller may be between 5 and 8 thousands of an inch larger than the distance between the two points 18 of the jaws. Each jaw has a recess 19 so that the bridging member transmits any load applied to the strap only to the end regions 25 of the jaws 17. The bridging member is of U-shape in cross-section. The body can be in the form of a simple D-ring including the two jaws but as shown it also has a hook 13 closed by a member 14 which is biassed to the closed position by a leaf spring 15.
