Abstract

970,611. Buckles. RALEIGH INDUSTRIES Ltd. May 14, 1963 [Feb. 15, 1962], No. 5821/62. Heading E2A. A buckle for releasably connecting strap ends 13a, 13b comprising a frame member 11 adapted to be connected to one strap end 13a and a lever 12 adapted to be pivotally engaged with said frame member and to receive the other strap end 13b to clamp the end against the frame, is characterized in that engagement between the lever 12 and the frame member 11 includes the location of transverse extensions 12b of the lever 12 with recesses 11a<SP>1</SP> of the frame 11. In use, when the strap is under tension, the lever is drawn downwardly against the stop llc and the strap is clamped between the lever 12 and the frame 11. The buckle is released by raising tongue 12c. The extensions 12b and their corresponding openings 11a<SP>11</SP> may be of dissimilar cross-section.
