Abstract

1,077,781. Adjustable fastener for waistbands &c. LIGHTNING FASTENERS Ltd. Dec. 22, 1965 [Jan. 7, 1965], No. 760/65. Heading E2S. An adjustable fastening device for waistbands and the like comprises a flexible strip 1 with two ribs 2, and central groove 4 and a base 3 secured to a waistband 7 by stitching or welding. A slider 9 with a loop 13 secured to one end of a strip, which passes through a tunnel formed by the waistband, has curved flanges 11 which engage over the ribs 2 to slide thereon and a pull locking member 10 which is rotatable to engage an end 18 in the groove 4 and press the ribs sidewards to be clamped between the end and flanges 11. The pivot of the locking member 10 may be transverse or longitudinal of the slider. The surface of the ribs and slider may be serrated. A similar fastening device may be secured to the other end of the strip.
