Abstract

The seat belt is made in one piece and has one end (2) attached to the upper part of a door pillar. The other end is fixed to the floor, with a slide (13) for adjusting its length. A metal fastener (1) is slidable along the length of the belt to take up the best position for the wearer, and has a triangular loop in its free end. This is locked between two metal clamps (4, 5) held on a rigid metal stay (8) fixed to the floor, near the seat (12). These clamps are pivoted and close through, and over, the fastener loop, overlapping to prevent inadvertent release.
