100,480. Cormerais, E. May 17, 1915, [Convention date]. Sectional boilers are formed of elements consisting of water-tubes 4 expanded into upper and lower transverse boxes 1, 2. The tubes are contracted at their ends to facilitate their connexion to the boxes. The ends of the tubes forming the sides of the furnace chamber are so reduced in diameter as to form passages 21 for the gases to enter the side heating-flues 22. In a modification, the gases leaving the furnace chamber take a downward course through a rear heating- flue, side flues being dispensed with.
