Sectional boilers.-In a boiler having horizontally-disposed sections b alternating with flues k, the sections are connected in series by inclined passages d formed by deflecting walls e. The furnace gases flow through the flues in the opposite direction to the flow of the water. The gases pass through an aperture h into a distributing-chamber i, Fig. 3, and after flowing through the flues, pass into a chamber m connected to the chimney.
