Abstract

1,003,591. Fluid-blast switches. LICENTIA PATENT-VERWALTUNGS-G.m.b.H. May 16, 1962 [May 18, 1961], No. 18849/62. Heading H2B. A circuit-breaker similar to that described in Specification 1,002,815 has a fixed nozzle contact 4 mounted on a bus-bar 5 forming a wall of the breaker chamber. The remainder of the breaker parts are movable relative to the said wall for isolation or replacement. The main part of the chamber 2 interfits with the bus-bar 5 which has coolers 6 for arc-extinguishing gases. The quenching medium may be supplied through the bus-bar 5 and the contact 4 may be resiliently mounted. The main part of the chamber 2 may be moved by a piston against spring bias so as to close a gap between itself and the bus-bar 5 only when the breaker is operated.
