Abstract

1,001,588. Air conditioning. SVENSKA FLAKTFABRIKEN A.B. Jan. 10, 1963 [Jan. 15, 1962], No. 1253/63. Heading F4V. A number of rooms are air conditioned by air pre-treated at a common centre which is then passed to units in the rooms where it is further heated or cooled before being mixed with room air for discharge from the units. Each unit comprises a distribution duct 2 supplied with the pre-treated air and a channel 4 connected tangentially to the distribution duct and terminating in an ejector 6 for inducing a secondary room air flow through an inlet 7, the mixture of primary and secondary air leaving the unit through a discharge opening 9. A heat exchanger 5 is mounted in the channel 4 and is supplied with a warm or cold medium. A valve may be provided in the heat exchange medium supply pipe and controlled by a thermostat having its sensitive element 10 located in the secondary air inlet 7 or in the room itself. A number of interchangeable ejectors 6 may be provided to vary the volume of primary air supplied. The units are preferably located below the windows of the rooms and the walls of the channel 4 are provided with a sound insulating covering.
