Abstract

1,001,010. Conveyers. MOLINS ORGANIZATION Ltd., D. W. MOLINS, and H. A. STONE. April 9, 1964 [April 10, 1963], No. 14367/63. Heading B8A. Transfer apparatus for transferring cigarettes moving one behind the other on a continuous rod cigarette-making machine catcher endless band 6, Fig. 2, to an endless collecting conveyer 1 which is inclined at an angle to the catcher band, comprises two narrow endless band conveyers 8, 9 extending from the delivery end of and moving in the same general direction as the catcher band 6 and delivering to the collecting conveyer 1, the narrow band 9 moving faster than the narrow band 8 so that cigarettes in being transferred from the catcher band 6 to the collecting conveyer 1 have their axes rotated through the angle. A scraper 11 transfers the cigarettes via a bridge-piece 12 from the band 6 to the bands 8, 9 which extend round driven rollers 13, 17, respectively, and move over a plate 21. The cigarettes are transferred from the bands 8, 9 to the conveyer 1 by an endless band 28, Fig. 3, driven by a roller 29 and two flexible guide strips 31, 32 and a guide plate 36 are provided. More than one band 6 may deliver cigarettes to the conveyer 1.
