Abstract

654,863. Conveying biscuits. WRIGHT'S BISCUITS, Ltd. Oct. 21, 1948, No. 27344. [Class 78 (i)] A method of delivering biscuits 11, Fig. 1, which are being mechanically fed to a given point, the biscuits to be delivered from the given point A to a desired point B displaced from the line of travel of the biscuits when mechanically fed, which method consists in feeding the biscuits to and between substantially-parallel longitudinally-curved guides 13 spaced apart by a distance slightly greater than the horizontal width of the biscuit and extending from the given point of the desired point, and allowing each biscuit to be conveyed solely by being pushed forward by the one behind, between the said guides from the given point to the desired point. Figs. 3 and 4.-Each guide may be formed of springy strips 21 extensible from within a sleeve 20 fixed by pins 22 to the base. Fig. 2.-Biscuits fed between straight guides 10 and sleeves 20 are then guided under their own pressure over surface 12 and between the flexible strips 21 extended from sleeves 20 to points B, blocks 23 serving to space the strips 21. The strips may be bent through any angle (e.g. 90 degrees) and the points B may be equidistant from each other.
