Abstract

1,000,632. Conveyers; shoots; loading and unloading. NEW CONVEYOR CO. Ltd. April 26, 1963 [April 26, 1962], No. 15930/62. Headings B8A, B8E and B8S. An endless conveyer section 11 pivoted at 12 is provided with a position control member in the form of a plumb bob electrode, the control member being connected to an actuating device in the form of an electronic capacity switch 15 which controls a winch 16 connected to the outer end of the pivoted conveyer section 11. When material 18 discharged from the conveyer section reaches a level that the material approaches on the control member 14, the actuating device causes the winch 16 to lift the conveyer section to a new position which enables discharge of material to proceed without the end of the conveyer becoming fouled or submerged. The actuating device 15 may also be arranged to arrest the conveying element 10 while the conveyor section is being moved to a new position. The conveyer may be used for conveying goods or material towards the pivot axis 12, the pivoted section being moved progressively downwards as loading proceeds. The pivoted section may comprise a shoot which may be vibrated in the longitudinal direction. Alternatively, the section may be a roller conveyer.
