Abstract

Lever load-handling appliances; jacks.-A device for raising and turning motor vehicles fixed to the rear of the chassis and adapted to be operated from the fly wheel of the engine consists of two wheels 14, 16 carried by pairs of arms 15, 25. The arms 25 are fixed to a threaded block 9, which is traversed to raise or lower the wheels 14, 16 by means of a screw 8. The wheel 14 can be rotated by worm gearing 12. The screw 8 and gearing 12 are both rotated from a shaft 2 by bevel gears which are thrown into and out of engagement by levers. The shaft 2 is provided with a friction-wheel engaging the fly-wheel of the engine. The frame 17 of the device is fixed to the chassis, suitable spacing blocks being provided.
