Abstract

1,000,079. Carrier bags. K. GOTZE, [trading as NORD-WEST PAPIERWERKE KARL GOTZE]. June 19, 1964, No. 25463/64. Heading A4G. A carrier bag has paper-like strip handles reinforced by longitudinal fibres over their entire length and formed by folding the longitudinal edges over the fibres as far as the centre of the strip as at 16 and then folding the central portion again along its longitudinal centre as at 17 to give a narrow holding portion and wider end sections secured to the bag, premarked crease lines 14, 15 occurring at the junction of the narrow and wide portions to facilitate bending of the handle in a plane. The reinforcing fibre filaments are preferably spaced by a quarter of the strip width and the turned-over strip folds adhesively secured together.
