Procédé de détection d’une défaillance d’un contacteur (BNC, BNO) de pédale de frein de véhicule automobile à partir de deux compteurs (CT1, CT2), le procédé comprenant notamment, lorsque le premier compteur (CT1) atteint un premier seuil (MAX1) prédéterminé ou que le deuxième compteur (CT2) atteint un deuxième seuil (MAX2) prédéterminé, une détection du prochain changement d’état de l’un au moins du premier contacteur (BNC) et du deuxième contacteur (BNO).
