Matériau catalytique comprenant au moins un métal du groupe VIB au moins en partie sous forme sulfurée, au moins un métal du groupe IVB au moins en partie sous forme sulfurée, et un support électro-conducteur dans lequel ledit métal du groupe VIB est choisi parmi le molybdène et/ou le tungstène, ledit métal du groupe IVB est choisi parmi le titane, le zirconium et/ou l’hafnium.
