Description
The invention relates to a method for producing or renovating a golf course bunker, and the bunker resulting from the method.
In a well-known manner, a bunker is an obstacle on a golf course, and is generally constituted by a depression filled with sand. The depression, of geometric shape, dimensions and variable depth, is equipped at the bottom, at its bottom, a drainage system consisting, for example, by crushed gravel coating a corrugated drain. According to the state of the art, the entire cavity is filled with sand, while defining a non-planar area, but generally hollow profile, to constitute an obstacle.
This embodiment of bunker is not completely satisfactory, and has certain disadvantages.
Indeed, in case of heavy rain, considering the density of the sand, the rainwater can not be totally evacuated, and therefore has a tendency to stagnate by constituting a puddle, that it is necessary to evacuate by means of 'a pumping machine.
Moreover, since the sand layer is directly in contact with the nature of the terrain where the bunker is formed, difficulties may arise for the replacement of the sand. There is also sand pollution and risks of clogging or clogging of the drainage system. The object of the invention is to remedy these disadvantages in a simple, safe, effective and rational manner.
The problem to be solved by the invention is, in particular, to avoid the formation of a puddle in case of heavy rain, with the aim of facilitating the maintenance of the bunker.
To solve such a problem according to the invention, it has been designed and developed a method of making or renovating a golf course bunker according to which, after having made on said ground a depression equipped in the lower part of a drainage system is provided in the bottom of said depression a layer of a mixture of aggregates and a suitable binder of the polymer resin type, to form a permeable layer, - after drying of said permeable layer is available on the latter, a layer of sand.
It follows from these characteristics that a total permeability to water is obtained, with, moreover, a significant reduction in the thickness of the sand layer, which can be about 10 cm, instead of 15 to 20 cm, according to the state of the art.
In addition, the permeable layer has sufficient hardness to allow the movement of motorized equipment for the maintenance and replacement of sand.
Finally, the risks of clogging and / or clogging of the drainage system are eliminated, the permeable coating layer playing a key role in isolating the sand from the drain underneath, while preserving a total permeability.
According to another characteristic, the permeable layer is disposed and distributed by means of a mechanical shovel, said layer being manually equalized by means of a tool. The invention also relates to the golf course bunker resulting from a cavity made on said ground, the bottom of said cavity being equipped in the lower part, a drainage system. According to the invention, the bottom of the cavity comprises a layer of a mixture of aggregates and a binder distributed in the bottom of the depression to form a permeable layer capable of receiving a layer of sand.
Suite à des essais réalisés à titre expérimental et confidentiel, des résultats avantageux sont obtenus lorsque le mélange des granulats et du liant est du type de celui connu sous la marque HydroWay®.Following tests carried out on an experimental and confidential basis, advantageous results are obtained when the mixture of the aggregates and the binder is of the type known under the HydroWay® brand.
A titre d’exemple, de manière connue, le système de drainage peut être constitué par des gravillons drainants concassés (2) enrobant un drain annelé (3).According to another feature, the thickness of the permeable layer is about 3 cm, while the thickness of the sand layer is about 10 cm. The invention is explained below in more detail with the help of the figures of the accompanying drawings in which: - Figure 1 is a perspective view of a non-limiting embodiment of a bunker, - the figure 2 is a sectional view of a bunker, according to the features of the invention; FIG. 3 is a perspective view showing the application of the draining layer; FIG. 4 shows the placement of the sand on the draining layer. The invention applies to all types of bunker, regardless of its size and depth. In a conventional manner, the bunker is made from a cavity (1a), formed by any known and appropriate means, in the golf course (1). The cavity (la) has at the bottom, at a zone considered the deepest, a drainage system. For example, in a known manner, the drainage system may consist of crushed draining grit (2) coating a corrugated drain (3).
According to a feature underlying the invention, there is disposed in the bottom of said depression (la) a layer (4) of a mixture of aggregates and a binder to form a permeable layer. This mixture of aggregates and binder is advantageously of the type known under the trademark HydroWay®. The mixture is made in a vertical axis mixer.
After drying of the permeable layer (4), a layer of sand (5) is placed on the said layer. The thickness of the permeable layer (4) is about 3 cm, while the thickness of the sand layer is about 10 cm. This results in a significant decrease in the thickness of the sand layer, compared to a bunker made in a conventional manner.
As shown in FIG. 3, the application of the mixture of aggregates and of the binder, in order to form the permeable layer (4), is carried out in a mechanical manner, for example by means of a mini-shovel, which distributes the mixture in the cavity. The shaping and equalization of the mixture is then performed manually, using a suitable tool, the rake type.
As indicated, the sand layer (5) is disposed on the permeable layer (4), after drying of the latter. This drying time is of the order of 8 hours, at a temperature of about 15 ° C. After drying the mixture of aggregates and binder, there is obtained a permeable layer (4) having sufficient hardness, allowing the circulation of motorized vehicles, for example for the introduction of sand (Figure 4), and for its replacement .
It follows from the characteristics of the process of the invention that the bunker obtained consists of a layer of a mixture of aggregates and a binder distributed in the bottom of the depression, so as to form a permeable layer (4), able to receive a layer of sand (5).
As indicated, the invention applies to the realization of bunkers or the renovation of existing bunkers, after removing the sand.
The advantages are apparent from the description, in particular, it emphasizes and recalls: - a total permeability to water, - a significant reduction in the thickness of the sand, - the permeable layer allows the movement of motorized vehicles, - the possibility of replacing the sand, with the help of mechanical devices of the mini-excavator type, - avoids sand pollution and clogging or clogging of the drain.
Finally, the method of making or renovating the bunker according to the invention is fast and efficient, while being inert to the environment.
