In a packing case, consisting of a plastics wedging piece (11) with product receiving cavities (11a) and engaging with a cardboard box (10), the box has anchoring openings (10c) on the lower parts of the side-walls, gripping openings (10d) and pre-cut, weakened lines (10e). Opposite side edges (11c) of the wedging piece periphery (11b) have flaps (11d) with projections (11e) which fit into the anchoring openings to lock the box to the wedging piece. In a packing case, consisting of a plastics wedging piece (11) with product receiving cavities (11a) and engaging with a cardboard box (10), the box forms a bottomless enclosure and has cut-outs (10c) as anchoring openings on the lower parts of at least two opposite pairs of side-walls and (higher up on the same walls) additional gripping openings (10d), from which two pre-cut, weakened lines (10e) run to the lower edge (10f) of the box wall to define a detachable zone (Z1) providing access to the box interior. At least two opposite side edges (11c) of the wedging piece periphery (11b) are extended by flaps (11d) with projections (11e) which (after folding of the flaps) form catches fitting into the anchoring openings (10c) to lock the box to the wedging piece.
