Abstract

Description

 The present invention relates to a foldable packaging capable of being delivered flat, to traders carrying out a catering activity, said packaging being able to be unfolded and reconstituted in its structure of use for the presentation and take-away sale of food. pleasantly and functionally arranged to the consumer.

 One of the objects of the invention is the production of a display packaging that is easily transportable and can be stored in a small space.

 Another object lies in the ease of assembly and constitution of the structure of use by simple unfolding and folding down of certain walls.

 Another goal lies in job security, in the objective of the rigidity of the final product.

 Another aim, finally, lies in the objective of maintaining the products to be consumed properly, inside the final structure of said packaging, advantageously honeycombed.

 A display package in accordance with the invention is essentially characterized in that it is made from a flat cardboard (or other similar material) sufficiently rigid, suitably cut, profiled, and pre-folded, certain flaps being glued and pre-assembled, while others are free and folded only at the time of final assembly, means being provided, on the one hand to ensure the gripping of the eaballage, on the other hand, to ensure stability of the food presented, the structure of the finished product being such that a tray of appropriate rigidity is obtained.

 According to one embodiment of the invention, the display package has the form of a truncated prism with a triangular base.

 According to a feature of this embodiment, the prism is truncated by an inclined plane.

 According to another particularity, the means provided for gripping the packaging are constituted by two openings made opposite in the two vertical walls converging towards the ridge of greatest height of the truncated prism.

 According to another particular feature, the means provided for ensuring the stability of the food presented are constituted by a plate (or grid) made of cardboard (or other material) comprising appropriate receiving openings, said plate, of triangular shape, in the case envisaged, being provided with flaps, which are carried away in the prism, along its enveloping walls, internal side, the height of the flaps determining the possible depth of depression of the plate.

 According to another particular feature, the bottom of the packaging has flaps of which at least two of them are automatically positioned horizontally when the prism is unfolded, a third locking flap being pushed and forcedly blocked against the first two, to form the rigid bottom of the packaging.

 According to another particular feature, the packaging is an equilateral triangular prism, two walls of which are in one piece, while the third, integral with the aforementioned third locking flap, comprises a fold allowing precisely the flattening for transport and storage, this third locking flap then also comprising an adjacent complementary fold, said folds being embedded in one another, in the folded position.

 FIG. 7 shows a package ready for use, loaded with its food products, a second identical package being shown in phantom, attached to the first.

 In the embodiment shown in the accompanying drawing, we see in Figure 1, the cardboard plate, or other similar material sufficiently rigid, suitably cut, profiled and pre-folded.

 The vertical walls of the future packaging are shown in 1, 2, 3, while the bottom flaps are shown in 4, 5, 6.

 The walls 1, 2 have no folds while the wall 3 has a median fold 3a.

 The walls 1 and 3 are connected to the central wall 2, respectively by vertical folds 7, 8.

 The wall 1 is glued at 9, this part having to be joined by gluing on the tab 10, ending on the right the wall 3.

 Gripping openings of the packaging are made at 11 and 12, respectively at the ends of the walls 1 and 3, on the side where these are the highest.

 The flaps 4, 5, 6 are respectively connected to the walls 1, 2, 3, by the folds 13, 14, 15.

 The flap 5 is extended by a tongue 16, a part 17 of which is glued. The tongue 16 is connected to the flap 5 by a fold 18.

 The glued part 17 is intended to come to stick under the flap 4, in a position such that the rim 16a of the tongue 16, comes to coincide and is superimposed on the outer rim of the fold 13. The flap 6 has in its median part a fold 6a which is intended, when the flap 6 is raised against the wall 3, to come to be embedded inside the fold 3a. A triangular cutting 19 facilitates, due to the clearance obtained, the folding of the flap 6 around the fold 6a.

 We note, at the free angular ends of the flap 6, that two cutting tabs 21 and 22 have come from cutting, the role of which, when the automatic bottom is folded down, is to forcibly lock the flap 6 against the flaps 4 and 5.

 The base length of the walls 1, 2, 3, being advantageously equal, we will therefore obtain, when the walls are folded to form the packaging, an equilateral base volume. This volume will be a prism whose base will be horizontal and the upper part an inclined plane, the highest part being located above the formed handles. through the openings 11 and 12, and the lowest part above the upper end of the wall 2.

 It is obvious, however, that as a variant, the horizontal base of the packaging could be given any other shape than an equilateral triangle.

 In order to keep the food products inside the volume thus defined, provision is made, in accordance with FIG. 2, for a plate 23 of cardboard, or other sufficiently rigid analogous material, having the general shape of an equilateral triangle provided with three flaps 24 , 25, 26, connected respectively to the plate or grid 23, by folds 27, 28, 29. The surface of the plate 23 has cut openings 30, 31, 32, of any suitable shape, intended to receive vertically, and stabilize the food products presented vertically in the packaging. These products threaded vertically into the openings 30, 31, 32 come to rest in the bottom of the packaging, or else they can be retained by their rim (yogurts for example) against the corresponding rim of the reception openings 30, 31, 32.

 It is also possible, for example, to provide an opening at 33 for receiving a "straw". Likewise, provision may be made at 34 for a cutout which will provide an angular opening in the packaging into which a paper towel can be inserted.

 The tip 23a, of the plate or grid 23, is intended to be fitted inside the prism of the packaging on the highest side thereof, that is to say on the side of the handles-openings 11 and 12. To allow the fingers of the gripper to pass through the two openings, without being hampered by the vertical flaps 24, 26, these have a cutout 25a, 26a, providing clearance.

 It is understood that in order to thread the plate 23 between the internal walls of the definitively shaped packaging, it suffices to fold the flaps 24, 25, 26 vertically and to engage the grid vertically, as shown in FIG. 6. The dimensions are such that the engagement is made with slight forcing, which ensures the maintenance of the grid 23 against the internal walls 1, 2, 3. The flap 26 engages in sliding action against the internal face of the wall 1, the flap 25 against the internal face of the wall 3, and the flap 24 against the internal face of the wall 2.

 It is easily understood that the height of the flaps 24, 25, 26, automatically determines the possible insertion depth of the plate or grid 23, inside the prismatic package.

The glued parts 17 and 9, having been joined to the other surfaces of the packaging, with which they must be joined, it is understood that it suffices to press at 35 and 36 (Figure 4), to bring the corresponding folds closer to the 'packaging, that is to say, 7 on the one hand, and 3a-6a on the other hand. The packaging, originally lozenge-shaped, due to the folds 3a and 6a, which break the wall 3 in two, gradually deforms into an increasingly thick diamond, until it becomes an equilateral triangle, when the wall 3, fully unfolded, is contained entirely in a vertical plane. During this movement, the flaps 4 and 5 are progressively flattened one against the other, while at the same time, the flap in two parts 6, approaches a planar shape (arrow 37, Figure 5), while also approaching the flaps 4 and 5. It is finally sufficient to push the flap-plane 6 against the bottom of the package, the locking being obtained by engagement with forcing tabs 21, 22, respectively against the adjacent base of walls 2 and 1, at the height of folds 14 and 13.

 We thus produced a prehensile packaging, of great rigidity, of great stability, and allowing, because of its triangular shape, a multicellular approximation, hence the possibility of transporting with one hand two or three packages next to each other. Flattening, after manufacture, presents no difficulty, which allows transport and storage in low volume.

 It goes without saying that one can, without departing from the scope of the present invention, make any modification to the embodiments which have just been described. In particular, the grid plate 235 which has been described is only one of the possible means of wedging food products. Another solution would be to provide stamped or raised parts in the flaps 4, 5, 6, which would fulfill a similar alveolar wedging function.

 Similarly, one could dispense, in order to grip the packaging, to cut openings 11 and 12, and to provide, in a manner known per se, folding handles, glued to one or other of the walls 1, 2, 3.

 Finally, provision could be made for the fastening of strap-straps, to suspend the packaging on the shoulder or around the neck, or even to provide small hooking tabs, to secure the packaging on the edge of a window pane. car for example.

Claims (7)

 1 - Foldable display packaging, essentially characterized by the fact that it is made from a flat 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, made of cardboard ----------- --------------- sufficiently rigid, suitably cut, profiled, and pre-folded, some flaps 9, 17 being glued and pre-assembled, while others 4, 5, 6 are free and folded down only at the time of final assembly, means being provided, on the one hand 11, 12 for gripping the packaging, on the other hand 23 for ensuring the stability of the food presented, the structure of the finished product being such that a plate of appropriate rigidity is obtained.  2 - display packaging according to claim 1, characterized in that it has the shape of a truncated prism with a triangular base.  3 - display packaging according to claim 2, characterized in that the prism is truncated by an inclined plane.  4 - display packaging according to claims 1, 2 or 3, characterized in that the means provided for gripping the packaging are constituted by two openings 11, 12, made opposite, in the two walls verticals 1, 3 converging towards the greatest height of the truncated prism.  5 - display packaging according to claims 1, 2 or 3, characterized in that the means provided to ensure the stability of the food presented consist of a plate 23 (or grid) of cardboard (or other material), having openings suitable receptacles 30, 34, 32, said plate, of triangular shape in the case envisaged, being provided with flaps 24, 25, 26, which are carried away in the prism along its enveloping walls, internal side, the height of the flaps determining the possible insertion depth of the plate.  6 - display packaging according to claim 1, characterized in that the bottom of the packaging has flaps 4, 5, 6, at least two of them 4, 5 are automatically positioned horizontally , during the unfolding of the prism, a third locking flap 6, being pushed and forcedly locked against the first two 4, 5, to constitute the rigid bottom of the packaging.  7 - display packaging according to claims 1, 2, 3 and 6, characterized in that the packaging is an equilateral triangular prism of which two walls 1, 2 are in one piece, while the third 3, integral with the aforementioned third locking flap 6, comprises a fold 3a, allowing the flattening precisely for transport and storage, this third locking flap 6 then also comprising a complementary fold 6a adjacent, said folds 3a-6a being embedded l 'one inside the other, in the folded position.
