Abstract

The rigid barrier (1), designed to fence off an accessible space on a roof or terrace, consists of two or more upright supports (5) fixed to the edge of the roof/terrace and solid or mesh panels (17) connected to them by sliding anchoring elements (23). The barrier panels have an anchoring bar (31) fixed to the back and offset from the panel surface, to which the sliding anchoring elements are fixed. The anchoring bar is fixed to the barrier ends, and the sliders are designed to fit over the top of the posts, each slider being in two sections (25, 27), one fitted to the bar and the other to the post.

Description

The present invention relates to a rigid railing terrace or

  roof to delimit an accessible space on it. The railing is in

  particular intended for temporary use, the time of the realization of a construction site on the roof or on the terrace, such as for renovating the roof or the roof of said roof or said terrace.

  However, it may be possible to envisage a longer-term or even permanent use for an installation on terraces of buildings on which air-conditioners or air-handling units are generally arranged, which require preventive maintenance and therefore a possibility of access. to machines safely.

  Known railings generally consist of posts on which are fixed safety barriers. The posts are secured to the roof or the terrace either by nailing or by direct screwing on the roof or terrace, or on the upper end of the walls of the building, or by means of intermediate anchors, able to receive said posts, themselves attached to the roof or terrace.

  The security barrier consists mainly of a grid or a rigid panel that prevents the passage of objects or people through it. The grid or panel is secured to a rigid frame which is fixed on the posts; the frame is fixed either by bolting on the posts or by means of anchors which are fixed on the frame.

  Such a design requires a rigorous and precise installation of the posts so that their position corresponds to that of the anchor points of the barrier. However, it is possible that the configuration of the roof or terrace does not allow to position the posts at the desired location; it is therefore appropriate to adapt or modify the fixing of the barrier, for example by means of additional anchors.

Other similar installations have simpler design anchors that grip the grid or panel by screwing or bolting; they therefore require the use of tools to carry out the intervention which is carried out according to a variable duration depending essentially on the configuration of the roof or terrace.

  US Pat. No. 3,863,899 discloses a removable railing consisting of a rigid frame fixed on posts by means of anchoring pieces; the anchoring pieces slide along the upper part of the rigid frame to adapt their position to that of the posts. Such a guardrail can not be used on roofs that have a slope and require that the barrier is at least screened or completely closed, to prevent the fall of an object or a person who could slip on said roof; however, the establishment of a grid or a panel on the rigid frame of the railing such as that object of US Patent 3,863,899 is not compatible with the anchoring means which must be able to slide to adapt their position and bring them to the right of the posts.

  The present invention aims to overcome the existing disadvantages by providing a rigid railing roof or terrace whose barrier is completely closed by a grid or a rigid panel, having removable and sliding anchoring means, whose position can adapt according to that of the posts on which they are fixed.

  It is understood that such a design advantageously allows to equip the railing with a barrier completely closed by a grid or a rigid panel, thus ensuring optimum safety, perfectly suited to use on roofs, while allowing to adapt the position of the anchors according to the position of the posts, which depends mainly on the configuration of the roof.

  The railing 1 object of the present invention is intended for use on roofs or terraces 3, as shown in Figure 1; it consists of at least two posts 5 fixed for example at the boundary 7 of the roof 3 or the terrace by means of anchoring feet 9. The anchoring feet 9 are, in a preferred and nonlimiting mode, fixed on rafters when used on a roof 3; while on a terrace, they will be fixed on the periphery of it or on the upper limit of the walls of the building. Their position therefore defines that of the posts and depends mainly on the configuration of the roof 3 to which they are attached.

  The anchoring foot 9 consists of a first end 11 secured to the roof 3 or the deck by screwing or nailing, or any other equivalent means, and a second end 13 which receives by insertion or by fitting the low end 15 of the post 5. In a preferred and nonlimiting mode, the two ends 11 and 13 are inclined relative to each other at an angle a which is a function of the inclination of the support (roof or terrace) on which is fixed the anchoring foot 9, and which provides a near vertical position of the post when inserted or nested on the second end 13. For a terrace, for example, the angle will be preferably ninety degree (900), which corresponds to an anchoring foot 9 with its two ends 11 and 13 arranged at right angles.

  The posts 5 are in a preferred mode of circular or square section; we can however consider posts of any section, such as rectangular or triangular. They allow the attachment and maintenance of a barrier 17 in a position substantially identical to theirs, namely a more or less vertical position, as shown in Figure 1.

  Figure 2 shows barrier 17; it consists, in a preferred and non-limiting mode, of a grid panel 19 and / or solid, reinforced by a rigid frame 21 constituting the frame of said barrier 17. The barrier 17 is fixed on at least two posts by means of anchoring carriages 23, each post 5 receiving at least one anchoring carriage 23 of a barrier 17.

  The anchoring carriages 23 consist of two parts 25 and 27. The part 25 serves to fix the barrier 17 on a post 5; it is preferably hollow, and of shape and section adapted to those of the PMRIN1-FR-1_RECTIFICATION NOTIFICATION IRREGULARITES 5 post, which advantageously allows it to slide on said post by insertion from its upper end 29. However, we can consider a piece 25 of circular section whatever the shape of the post 5.

  The piece 27 is secured to the barrier 17 and movable thereon; indeed, the piece 27 is slidably mounted on the barrier 17 and can translate along it. This sliding assembly allows to position the piece 25, integral with the piece 27, opposite the post 5, and then to insert it thereon.

  For this purpose, the barrier comprises a rigid bar 31 that is remarkable in that it lies in a plane that is parallel and offset, or in an offset plane, with respect to the plane of the solid and / or screened barrier 17, said bar 31 receiving at least two pieces 27 of two anchor carriages 23. The piece 27 is hollow, and of shape and section adapted to those of the bar 31 so that it can slide on said bar and thus allow to change its position on the barrier 17 in order to arrange the piece 25 facing the post 5. The offset between the plane of the bar 31 and that of the barrier 17 advantageously slides the piece 27 on said bar 31 without any resistance or friction on the grid panel 19 and / or full of said barrier 17.

  In a preferred mode of design, the bar 31 is of identical length to that of the barrier 17 in order to optimize the range of adjustment of the position of the anchoring carriages 23 on the barrier 17, and to allow a greater variation of the position of the posts 5 on the roof 3; the bar is fixed for this purpose by its ends 33 and 35 on the lateral edges 37 and 39 of the barrier 17. The ends 33 and 35 may for example have a square shape, not shown in the accompanying figures, to create an offset of the bar 31 with respect to the plane of the barrier 17.

  The pieces 25 and 27 of the anchoring carriage 23 are preferably fixed relative to each other and the axis of the piece 25 is perpendicular to that of room 27; the carriage 23 is obtained, for example, by welding between the two parts 25 and 27, which allows to design for a minimal manufacturing cost. This design assumes, however, that the posts 5 are all arranged perfectly parallel to each other, for example vertically, in order to prevent the locking of the anchoring carriages 23, by bracing, when they are placed on the posts 5. It is possible, according to a variant, to provide a hinge of the pivot connection type between the part 25 and the part 27 making it possible to articulate the part 25 and to arrange its axis in the same position as that of the post 5, that is, that is to say, parallel, thus making it possible to compensate for the defects of parallelism between the posts, and thus to fix perfectly, without it jamming, the barrier 17 on the posts 5 by guaranteeing a proper positioning of the barrier 17 resting on the roof 3.

  In a preferred and non-limiting embodiment as shown in FIG. 2, the barrier 17 consists of a rigid frame 21 completely closed by a rigid panel 19, whose bottom end 41 is solid, and whose end high 43 is screened. Such a design advantageously makes it possible to lighten the barrier and to facilitate its manipulation, and then to prevent any possibility of passage of an object through said barrier 17, an object which could possibly slide on the inclined roof 3.

  Another preferred mode is to achieve all the elements of the railing with a treated material, resistant to corrosion, such as galvanized steel.

  Other implementations within the scope of those skilled in the art may be considered, without departing from the scope of the present invention.
