Abstract

Partition has, at each corner, corner element receiving connection part (5) to allow two partitions to be joined through top bottom. Corner elements are fixed to profiles ends which edge partition. Corner element is fixed to two profiles by means of two screws. Fixing screw to vertical section (3) being drilled axially with hole for receiving clipping stud or fixing screw of connection part.

Description

The subject of the present invention is a partition wall, used

  generally, but not exclusively, in

  offices to create boxes or partitions.

  Partition walls consist of vertical walls that are assembled and installed in a room

to make boxes.

  The partitions are butted in a rectilinear or angular manner, an assembly preferably comprising partitions forming an angle between them to ensure the lift of this assembly, taking into account that a rectilinear partition can be

  kept upright using suitable foot devices.

  In general, the assembly of the partitions is carried out by means of posts, which can each, depending on their configuration, make it possible to assemble two, three or even four walls, and forming right angles or the like. Such partitions are all identical except for their dimensions, on the other hand the posts are different from each other according to the number of partitions they allow

  to assemble and the angles that these make between them.

  Partitions are also known which consist of walls fitted with vertical uprights specific to a type of assembly. Thus a wall may include, in all possible combinations, a simple vertical upright for one end not secured to another wall, a double upright for securing to another wall, with variants concerning the different possible angles, a triple upright

  for securing to two other walls and so on.

  Obviously, this type of partitions has a great disadvantage in terms of manufacturing cost and inventory management. In an attempt to remedy this, it has been proposed to manage the walls and the vertical uprights separately, said walls being all identical, except as regards their dimensions, while said uprights are different and have means of attachment to said walls allowing to assemble at the installation site. This procedure is however equivalent to that previously mentioned, using posts, and it does not resolve the

  manufacturing cost and inventory management issues.

  The object of the present invention is to remedy the aforementioned drawbacks by proposing a partition which does not require studs or posts specific to a

particular assembly.

  The partition object of the present invention is essentially characterized in that it comprises at each of its corners a corner element capable of receiving a connecting piece allowing to connect from above or from below two or more partitions according to the configuration of said connecting piece. According to an additional characteristic of the partition according to the invention, the corner elements are

  secured to the ends of profiles which border the partition.

  According to another additional characteristic of the partition according to the invention, the connecting pieces are

  secured to the corner elements by screwing.

  According to another additional characteristic of the partition according to the invention, the connecting pieces are

  secured to the corner elements by clipping.

  According to another additional characteristic of the partition according to the invention, each corner element is secured to two profiles by means of two screws, the fixing screw to the vertical profile being either tapped or simply perforated axially to receive, depending on the case, a fastening screw for a connecting piece or a stud

clip fitted to the latter.

  According to another additional characteristic of the partition according to the invention, the head of the screw intended for the attachment of a connecting piece to a lower corner element of a partition comprises an end piece constituting a foot, while the driving depth of said screw is adjustable. According to another additional characteristic of the partition according to the invention, a connecting piece comprises a

  a certain number of orifices or nipples for clipping, to allow the

  joining together an equivalent number of partitions.

  According to another additional characteristic of the partition according to the invention, the connecting parts come from molding of a plastic material or a metal alloy. According to another additional characteristic of the partition according to the invention, the contact surfaces of a connecting piece and of a corner element include indexing means making it possible to give a preferential orientation

from one to the other.

  Advantageously, connecting pieces each having a different number of orifices or clipping studs, form a

  together from a single molding.

  The advantages and characteristics of the partition according to the invention will become more clearly apparent from the

  description which follows and which relates to the attached drawing, which

  represents a non-limiting embodiment thereof.

  Referring to Figure 1, we can see a partition 1 consisting of a wall 10 bordered at the periphery by horizontal sections 2 and vertical sections 3, only one of which is visible, as well as two corner elements 4 which, each , connect,

  between them, a horizontal profile 2 and a vertical profile 3.

  A horizontal profile 2, shown in cross section in FIG. 2, is preferably made of extruded aluminum, and it essentially comprises two parallel wings 20 intended to receive, between them, the lower or upper edge of the wall 10, as well as a tubular part 21, open longitudinally for manufacturing reasons, the

ends 22 are tapped.

  A vertical profile 3, shown in cross section in FIG. 3, is also preferably made of extruded aluminum, and it essentially comprises two parallel wings 30 intended to receive, between them, a vertical edge of the wall, as well as a part tubular 31, open longitudinally for manufacturing reasons, the ends 32 of which are tapped. A corner element 4 consists of a shaped metal block allowing its adaptation to the end of a horizontal profile 2 and to the end of a vertical profile 3. It includes interlocking means making it possible to avoid its rotation on one of the sections 2 and 3, which consist, on the one hand, of studs 40 intended to be embedded in housings 23 that comprise the horizontal section 2, and, on the other hand, of studs 41 intended to be embedded in housings 33 which comprises the profile

vertical 3.

  The corner element 4 is secured by means of screws, a screw 24 screwed into the threaded end 22 of the tubular part 21 of the horizontal profile 2, and a screw 34 screwed into the threaded end 32 of the tubular part 31 of

vertical profile 3.

  After the four corner elements 4 have been joined to the two horizontal sections 2 and to the two vertical sections 3, the

  wall 10 is encircled and the assembly constitutes a partition 1.

  All the partitions 1 intended for the production of boxes are identical in design, only their dimensions in the direction of

  the width can be different.

  In FIG. 1, it can also be seen that the screws 34 are tapped axially to allow them to be screwed therein, for the upper corner element 4, a countersunk head screw 35, and for the lower corner element 4 a screw 36 provided with a nut 37 and a washer 38, and the head of which is furnished with a nozzle 39 which

  preferably is made of a plastic material.

  The end piece 39 constitutes a foot, while the nut 37 and the washer 38 make it possible to adjust the driving depth of the screw 36 to make up for any flatness or

ground level.

  It will be noted that the use of an axially threaded screw 34 makes it possible to reduce the dimensions of the corner piece 4 and by

  consequently the width of the vertical profile 3.

  The screws 35 and 36 are intended to secure to each of the corner elements 4 a connecting piece 5, partially shown in Figure 1, allowing, by a similar fixing, to assemble the partition 1 to one or more other partitions 1 , depending on the connecting piece 5 used, which can have several forms which will be described below with regard to

in Figure 4.

  It will be noted that, instead of being screwed, a connecting piece can be clipped onto a corner element 4. Under these conditions, the screw 34, instead of being tapped, can simply be drilled axially for the receiving a clipping stud fitted, then said connecting piece 5. Thus, when in the

  In this figure we can see: - a connecting piece 5 of triangular shape which has three holes 50 to receive three screws 35 or 36, for the assembly of three partitions 1, - a connecting piece 5 of square shape which has four holes 50 for receiving four screws 35 or 36, for the assembly of four partitions 1, - a connecting piece 5 of oblong shape which has two holes 50 for receiving two screws 35 or 36, for

the assembly of two partitions 1.

  These three connecting pieces 5, which come from molding of a plastic material, are connected by bridges 51, because they

  form a unit 52 molded in one piece.

  It will be noted that the assembly 52 also comprises two parts 53 in the form of washers intended to line the corner elements 4 with the end of a partition 1 not assembled to another, in there

  being fixed by means of screws 35 or 36.

  If we also refer to Figure 5, we see that one of the holes 50 of each of the connecting pieces 5 is bordered, on the side opposite to that having a countersink 54 intended to accommodate the head of a screw 35, d 'a pad 55 of substantially oblong shape intended to be housed in a notch 42 of complementary shape, visible in Figure 1, made in the corner element 4, in order to index the position of the connecting pieces relative to the

partition 1.

  The other orifices 50 are bordered on the same side as the stud 55, with a tubular end piece 56 of the same length, also intended to be introduced into a notch 42, so as to be centered there with the possibility of turning there to orient the partitions. 1 in different angles than the axes between them

passing through the openings 50.

  Note that it is however possible that each of the orifices 50 of the connecting pieces 5 is provided with a stud 55 for

guarantee a precise angle.

  It will also be noted that the indexing of a connecting piece on a corner element 4 can be carried out differently. The contact faces of these may for example have radial teeth of complementary shapes, making it possible to block them one on the other in a precise angular position, the

  number of possible angles depending on the pitch of the teeth.

  Referring now to Figures 6a and 6b, we can see in Figure 6a four partitions 1 assembled by means of a connecting piece 5 of square shape, and in Figure 6b, three partitions 1 assembled by means of a connecting piece 5 of triangular shape. A partition i according to the invention has many advantages compared to a partition of known type. Indeed, from a cost point of view, the connecting pieces 5 are of low cost, which allows each partition 1 to be packaged with four assemblies 52 and at least two screws 35 and screws 36, to face all possible assembly configurations. There is therefore no problem of stock management. In addition, the method of assembling the partitions 1, in addition to its discretion, makes it possible to vary the angles formed by the partitions 1 at will, thus allowing multiple arrangement configurations to be carried out at low cost. It goes without saying that the present invention cannot be

  limited to the foregoing description of one of its modes of

  realization, likely to undergo some modifications without

  however, depart from the scope of the invention.

Claims (10)

  1. Partition wall, used generally, but not exclusively, in offices to create boxes or partitions, characterized in that it comprises at each of its corners a corner element (4) capable of receiving a piece of connection (5) for connecting two or more partitions (1) from above or from below, depending on the configuration of said part link (5).   2. Partition wall according to claim 1, characterized in that the corner elements (4) are secured   at the ends of profiles (2, 3) which border the partition (1).   3. Partition wall according to claim I or claim 2, characterized in that the connecting parts (5)   are secured to the corner elements (4) by screwing.   4. Partition wall according to claim I or claim 2, characterized in that the connecting parts (5)   are secured to the corner elements (4) by clipping.   5. Partition wall according to any one of   claims 2 to 4, characterized in that each element   angle (4) is secured to two profiles (2, 3) by means of two screws (24, 34), the screw (34) for securing to the vertical profile (3) being drilled and, if necessary, axially tapped to receive a clip pin or a screw (35, 36) of   joining of a connecting piece (5).   6. Partition wall according to claim 5, characterized in that the head of the screw (36), intended for the attachment of a connecting piece (5) to a lower corner element (4) of a partition , comprises a tip (39) constituting a foot, while the driving depth of said screw (36) is adjustable.   7. Partition wall according to any one of   Claims 3 to 5, characterized in that a connecting piece   (5) has a certain number of orifices (50) or clip studs, to allow a number to be joined together of equivalent partitions (1).   8. Partition wall according to any one of   previous claims, characterized in that the pieces of   link (5) come from molding of a plastic material.   9. Partition wall according to claim 6, characterized in that connecting pieces (5) each comprising a number of orifices (50) or clip pins   different, form an assembly (52) coming from a single molding.   10. Partition wall according to any one of   previous claims, characterized in that the surfaces   of contact of a connecting piece (5) and of a corner element (4) comprise indexing means (55) making it possible to give a   preferential orientation of one with respect to the other.
