Abstract

The corrugated cardboard tray (23) comprises a bottom (2) and surrounding side walls (5). These walls are connected to the bottom by folding lines and have either side their upper edge first flaps. Each flap is connected to the corresponding side wall by a second folding line and connected to a second flap (10) by a third folding line. The first walls are also provided with third flaps connected to the first walls by folding lines. The second flaps are folded down and stuck onto the external face of the corresponding third flap, the first and second flaps forming corners.

The present invention relates to a tray made of a sheet of corrugated cardboard of the type comprising a bottom and a belt of main side walls, namely two first opposite side walls connected to the bottom by first fold lines and respectively provided with part and another on their upper edge, first flaps, each of said first flaps being connected to said first corresponding side wall by a second fold line, parallel to the first fold line, and being connected to a second side flap by a third line of folding, perpendicular to said second fold line, and two second opposite side walls, said first walls being further provided on their lateral sides with third flaps connected to said first walls by fourth fold lines perpendicular to said first fold lines, the second flaps being folded down and glued to the fac e external of the third corresponding flap, said first etan walls further connected respectively to their upper edges opposite to said first fold lines, by a fifth fold line, double, n ouatrffieme flap folded inwardly of the plate t xe on saw the internal face of said first corresponding wall.

 It also relates to a blank making it possible to obtain a tray as defined above.

 It finds a particularly important although not exclusive application in the field of storage and transport trays for fruits and vegetables, poultry and other food products which require resistant packaging, suitable for storage in a refrigerated medium which may have a degree of high humidity.

 Corrugated cardboard sheet trays are already known comprising a side wall belt and provided with corner pillars obtained by folding flaps fixed to said walls.

There are for example stackable trays (FR
A-2 584 375) provided with multiple support points, some of the walls having a double thickness and reinforced corners.

 However, such trays do not have any reinforcement at the angle angles allowing resistance to its vertical compression optimized during stacking in very humid environments, nor an optimization of the consumption of cardboard while respecting the overall aesthetics of packaging.

 In addition, they do not allow optimized air circulation over the products.

 The present invention aims to provide a tray and a blank in the form of a fire and it is corrugated, meeting better than those previously known the requirements of practice, in particular in that it allows easy mounting from a blank with low quantitative losses in cardboard, all to obtain a packaging with excellent mechanical resistance, in particular to compression in a very humid environment (70% to 90% humidity), which manifests itself during stacking of full packaging .

 The trays obtained with the invention also have an aspect of finish and solidity which is particularly appreciated in the food industry.

 Another advantage relates to excellent air circulation over the products.

 To this end, the invention provides in particular a tray of the type described above, characterized in that the grooves are perpendicular to the first fold lines, and in that each third flap has a fifth flap connected to said third flap by a sixth fold line, double, said fifth flap being folded around said sixth fold line and glued to the inner face of said third flap.

 In this way, the edge of the upper edge of the third flap, whose grooves are vertical and which supports the upper plates, is not open towards the outside, being covered by the surface with this double fold line, which increases from 10 to 20 At resistance to plateau compreHw: ion.

 In an advantageous embodiment each fifth flap is in the form of a rectangular tongue.

 Advantageously, each fifth flap is L-shaped.

 In an advantageous embodiment, the second flaps are provided on either side on their upper edge with notches of shape complementary to those of the second flaps.

 Advantageously, they have the same height as the first flaps at the level of the sixth fold lines.

 Also advantageously each set of first flap and associated fourth flap comprises at least one part cut at their fifth fold line, said cut part being adapted to form a notch on the upper edge of the corresponding side face of the tray once formed.

 In an advantageous embodiment, the cut part comprises a sixth flap connected to the first flap by a seventh fold line, double, parallel and offset with respect to the fifth fold line on the side of the central panel, and a hollowed-out part complémen-aii-e and adgacellte, sixth flap, cut from said fourth flap.

 In the following description, the same reference numbers are used to designate the identical elements of the blank and the tray.

 FIG. 1 shows a blank 1 comprising a rectangular central panel 2 intended to form the bottom of a corrugated cardboard tray, for example double-sided, 4 cm thick.

 The central panel 2 is provided on each side with a rectangular or substantially rektaIlgulail-e flap, namely two first flaps 3 opposite wectangulalres connected to the panel by first fold lines 4, and two second flaps 5 rectangular or substantially rectangular, stripped flaps, connected to the central panel by second fold lines 6 perpendicular to the first fold lines.

 The direction of the grooves is perpendicular to the first fold lines.

 Each first flap 3 is respectively connected, on each side and on its upper edge 7 situated on the side opposite to the first fold lines, by second fold lines 8 parallel to the first fold lines, to first flaps 9 d end, rectangular or triangular trapezoidal shape.

 Each of the first flaps 9 is in turn connected on its outer lateral edge relative to the rest of the blank, in the opposite direction and towards the outside of the first flap, in the direction perpendicular to the second fold lines, to a second flap 10 lateral, substantially rectangular, by a third fold line 11 perpendicular to the second fold line 8.

 The third fold line 11 is also located in the extension and aligned with the second fold line 6 of the second flap 5 adjacent.

 The first flaps 3 further comprise on their lateral sides third rectangular flaps 12 connected to the latter by fourth fold lines 13 perpendicular or substantially perpendicular to the first fold lines, slightly offset towards the inside of the blank relative to, and parallel to the second fold lines 6, of a dimension e slightly less than or equal to the thickness of the corrugated cardboard.

 The first flaps 3 are provided on their upper edges 7, between the first two end flaps 9, with a fourth flap 14, of isosceles trapezoidal shape, the small base of which is on the side of the first flap 3, and the sides of which lateral are parallel to the lateral edges vis-à-vis the first adjacent triangular flap 9, and therefore extend obliquely outward from the junction line with the first flap.

 More precisely, the fourth flap 14 is connected to the first flap by a fifth fold line 15, double, the internal line of which is in the extension of the second line 8 of junction with the first flaps 9.

 The height h of the fourth flap is identical to that of the first flap 3, so that when the flap is folded inwards of the plate and fixed on the internal face of said first flap, the end edge 15 of the fourth flap is F intact with the bottom (see figure 2).

 According to the embodiment more particularly described here, the tray is provided with two stacking renons 17, cut in the center of each of the first flaps, at the level of the fold lines, don the recess 18 at the level of the first line of folding 4 being provided, plumb, as well as a recess 19 at the edge 16 of the flap intended to be folded down, to allow the stacking of the trays during stacking.

 Each third flap 12 also comprises a fifth flap 20 to which it is connected by a sixth fold line 21, double, parallel to the second fold lines 6 and situated in the extension of the fifth fold line 15, double, from the blank to flat (see figure 1) of the first corresponding flap.

 The fifth flap 20 is L-shaped, or angle iron, one of the branches of which is fixed to the third flap by the sixth line 21 and the other branch is free and directed towards the fourth flap 14, said branch being of length equal to that of the third flap, so that the end 22 of the lower branch is. in contact with the internal face of the first flap and / or of the fourth flap folded down, when the fifth flap Cf. FIG. 2) is folded over the third flap 12 adjacent to form the angle of the plate 23.

 In the embodiment; sation more particularly described here the second flaps 5 comprise an upper edge 24 provided with a central recess e which will allow air circulation when the nl-iteaiix are stacked.

 The flap 5 also has a part opposite the double fold line of the same height as the height of the plate, and an end cut in the shape of a triangle, to present a recess or notch 10 ′ whose bottom is shaped complementary to that of the second flap 10.

 We will now describe more precisely the formation of the plate 21 with reference to FIG. 2.

 After gluing, the fifth flaps 20 are folded over the third flaps 12, and the fourth flaps 14 on the first adjacent walls, around the double fold lines 21 and 15, and are put under pressure.

 Then the second and fifth glued flaps are folded vertically, at the same time as the first flaps 3 to 90O.

 The second flaps 5 are then pressed externally on the external faces of the third flaps 12.

 Finally, the first flaps 9 and second flaps 10 are folded down after gluing to form the angle angles 26, the second flaps 10 coming to be embedded in the recesses 10 'at the end of the corresponding second flaps, to be glued to the face external of the third flap 12.

 In this way the tray has only a double thickness of corrugated cardboard at the corners.

The end 22 of the L abuts on the internal face of the first adjacent flap and / or on the flap 14, the lower edge of the lower branch of said
L being in contact with the upper face of the flap 2 on which it bears.

 FIG. 2bis shows another embodiment of the fifth flap 20 ′, which is rectangular, of height less than that of the third flap 12.

 The flap 20 ′ is folded down and glued to the internal face of the third flap, on the upper side of the corresponding angle of the plate.

 With the invention, the corners of the tray are entirely covered by flat surfaces of corrugated cardboard, and have flaps whose grooves are vertical, allowing good resistance to compression while being protected from water flows due to the humidity along the grooves, which improves compression resistance by 15% in very humid environments.

 FIG. 3 shows a blank 30 whose first flaps 31 are on the one hand of greater longitudinal dimension with the second flaps 32 and on the other hand of greater transverse dimension (height) than said second flaps.

 The first flaps have a sixth rectangular flap 33, centered with respect to the first flap, connected sideways to the latter by a seventh fold line 34, double, parallel to the fifth fold line 35, offset towards the bottom of the tray. to be formed, for example from 1 to 2 cm, with respect to said fifth fold line.

 The lateral sides 36 of the sixth flap are cut relative to the rest of the blank, the side 37 opposite the fold line 34 being free and giving onto an adjacent recess 38 produced in the fourth flap 39.

 The recess 38 is of complementary shape and of the same dimension as the sixth flap 33.

 Advantageously, stacking studs 40 at the level of the fifth fold lines 35, and complementary recesses 41 made at the level of the first fold lines 42 are provided, on either side of the sixth flap.

 FIG. 4 shows the plate 43 obtained with the blank of FIG. 3.

 Given the respective dimensions of the flaps and flaps, it has four notches or boats 44, 45 allowing optimal ventilation (Cf.

Figure 5) pallets according to arrows 46 even when the stacks 47, 47 ', 47 "are offset.

 In this embodiment, the ledge 48 formed by the sixth flap, and the sidewalks 49 formed by the fifth double beach lines are in the length of the platform and no longer in width as shown with reference to FIGS. 1 and 2.

 The second flaps 32 being of lesser height than the first flaps 31, the third flap 50 is higher and the second flap 51 can therefore be glued to the external face of said third flap 50, above the upper edge 52 of the second flap ( See Figure 4).

 As is obvious and as it follows from the above, the present invention is not limited to the embodiments more particularly described. On the contrary, it embraces all of its variants and in particular those where the fifth flap is glued to the external face of the second flap.
