Abstract

The invention relates to a device for crossbracing a facade consisting of hooped glass, in such a way that the loads exerted by the facade are transmitted to the crossbrace by compression of the areas of glass in order to exclude any piercing thereof and to permit, consequently, the use of annealed glass or compound glass. The hooping device consists of clamping pieces (2i and 2e) which are applied on each of the areas of a glass element (1) by way of wedges (4), and are joined to each other by tensioning devices (3). The facade element (A) is joined to the crossbrace by fixing on the clamping piece (2e).
