Description

 Extensible textile article and its manufacturing process.

 More particularly, the invention relates to the articles obtained on initiate & weave or & crochet. such as ribbons or elastic bands with a light and airy texture.

 In a known manner, these articles are produced by an interlacing of elastic and inelastic warp yarns and inelastic weft yarns. Generally, the. warp threads are artificial or natural gums.

 This type of article has a very high degree of elongation, of the order of 170 X.  The object of the invention is to remedy these drawbacks in a simple, efficient and rational manner.

 To resolve these drawbacks of sliding of the elastic threads and more particularly at the seam, a mesh of the elastic warp thread on itself makes it possible to create asperities by constituting a succession of chain stitches.

 The invention therefore finds a particularly interesting application for bands and ribbons or elastic fabrics. We can cite for example, high stalls, belts of tights and underwear, as well as tulles, charmers, etc ...

The textile article according to the invention is of the type of those produced by an interlacing of elastic warp threads <i> and of non-extensible weft threads (2>. The elastic warp threads are of any known and suitable type such as ELASTHANNE yarns made from an artificial gum or ELASTODIENE yarns made from a natural gum.

 According to the invention, each of the elastic warp threads <1) is subjected to an operation capable of giving it roughness to prevent slippage. These roughnesses result from a mesh of elastic warp threads on themselves to constitute a succession of chain stitches (the>. Such a mesh operates directly on all types of looms and by all known and appropriate means.

 It should be noted that the mesh of the elastic warp threads is carried out before the introduction and the passage of said threads into the mechanism of the loom or weaving or knitting machine in order to carry out the interlacing of warp-weave as such.

 As indicated, the characteristics of the invention apply to all types of elastic bands and ribbons or fabrics.

 According to the invention, this succession of chain stitches which constitutes each of the elastic warp threads, prevents the latter from slipping relative to the non-elastic weft threads and more particularly to the seams after having exerted a tensile force on the article. . After retraction, the article thus produced always has a clean and stable presentation.

 The article thus produced finds a particularly advantageous application for high stalls, belt tights and underwear, as well as tulles, charmers, etc.

-1- Woven or knitted textile article resulting from an intertwining of elastic warp threads (1> and of non-elastic weft threads <2>, characterized in that each of the elastic warp threads (1) is subjected to an operation apt & give it roughness to avoid slipping. -2- Article according to claim 1, characterized in that the roughness results from a knitting of the elastic warp thread on itself to constitute a succes-sion of net chai stitches. -3- Article according to any one of claims I and 2, characterized in that it is in the form of a strip of a ribbon or elastic fabric. -4- Method of manufacturing the article according to any one of claims 1 d 3, characterized in that one carries out the mesh of each of the elastic warp son to constitute a succession of chain stitches before introduction and passing said threads through a loom capable of ensuring warp-weft interlacing.
