Abstract

The barrier consists, working from the bottom upwards, of a solid slab of reinforced cement or concrete 7, 8, comparatively shallow, but long, and surmounted by one or more rails 9 to 12, also of reinforced concrete, lying horizontally at intervals. The slab 7 or 8 and the rails 9 to 12 are held in position by posts 4, 5 resting in the trough and having suitable slots in which the extremities of the slab and of the rails are inserted. A number of barriers are put up longitudinally in series, with intermediate posts 6.
