Abstract

The subject of the present invention is a decorative object and the method for its use. The method of the invention is characterised in that it consists of one or more films 1, 2, 3, 4... of wax between and/or in which a number of decorative subjects 5 such as flowers or other objects are embedded, coming flush with the visible surface of the wax.

Description

The subject of the present invention is a coratzf element and its manufacturing process.

It is known to produce decorative elements from decorative openwork materials such as flowers or insects or the like which, after dehydration, are included in a frame under glass.

These decorative elements have the disadvantage that after a certain period of time, the materials used dry up and become particularly brittle and fragile.

The invention aims to overcome this drawback.

The invention further aims to produce a decorative element having the appearance of enamel.

The decorative element according to the invention intended or not to be included in a frame, is essentially characterized in that it consists of one or more layers of wax between and / or in which or which are included decorative materials or subjects such as plants or other objects that come flush with the surface of the wax, or are visible by transparency.

According to another characteristic of the invention, use is made of the process according to the basic decorative material consisting of partially dehydrated plants; these plants are subjected to a soaking in a boiling wax bath then to a soaking in a malleable wax then are affixed to a pelli ass of wax previously poured and covered by successive layers of wax, subjects being able to be interposed between the layers successive waxes, the lower layer previously cast then being polished to reveal the said plants or other subjects included.

Preferably, the wax used is a modeling or molding wax of known type which may or may not be colored by any known method and means.

Preferably, the decorative subjects used are plants, insects or the like without limitation, although the example chosen for the purposes of the description exclusively refers to plants as illustrated in FIG. 4.

The decorative element according to the invention is designed and produced in such a way that the subjects included in the layers of wax are visible, either by transparency through the first layer of wax and / or the layers of successive wax, either by outcropping of said first layer.

The decorative element according to the invention comprises a first layer of wax 1 which constitutes the visible surface, one or more decorative subjects 5 and one or more successive layers of waxes such as 2, 3, 4, etc.

The process for producing the decorative element according to the invention is as follows
A first layer 1 of liquid wax is poured flat over a variable thickness, which can be, for example, two to five millimeters thick (FIG. 1).

 According to the invention, the decorative subjects are impregnated with wax by a soaking operation in a bath of boiling or very hot wax, which causes them to dehydrate and freezes their appearance.

Preferably, in the case where the subjects used are flowers or other plants, these will have been previously at least partially dehydrated by a drying operation.

This dehydration makes it possible to promote their impregnation by the wax during the bath and to avoid the boiling of the sap and other wet components of the flowers, which could denature them.

After soaking in boiling or very hot wax, the subjects are subjected to a draining then in a soaking in a bath of malleable wax which constitutes a coating facilitating both the bonding of the flowers on the film 1 during the following operation affixing on it and fixing and bonding with the other layers of wax.

By malleable wax constituting the second soaking operation is meant a wax which is neither hard nor liquid but pasty.

Wax films are then successively poured onto the first and onto the flowers as they coagulate and solidify respectively until the thickness of the dies is obtained to obtain that the flowers or other decorative subjects are perfectly encompassed and included and that the decorative element obtained has sufficient mechanical strength (Figure 4).

The pouring of successive films from the preceding layer or layers makes it possible, on the one hand, to obtain a mechanically satisfactory thickness while maintaining the subjects in the chosen position.

The pouring of successive films after solidification of the preceding layer or layers makes it possible on the one hand to interpose subjects 5 between the successive layers as shown in FIG. 5, which gives an effect of depth and on the other hand, by partial recasting of the already solidified layer, to obtain a homogeneous bond between the layers.

It should be noted that the coloring in the mass is preferably carried out after completion of the first film and affixing of the flowers soaked in wax by means of wax dyes so that any shade or variation in shade, such as effects of marble or gradations are obtained in the mass.

Similarly, without departing from the scope of the invention, the wax layers 1, 2, 3, 4 can be tinted in the mass, the layer or film 1 being or not colorless and or translucent.

According to another characteristic of the invention, the product obtained can, before complete solidification, be subjected to a curving operation.
