Demountable hinge, especially for doors of motor vehicles, comprising two brackets 10, 20 ensuring the fastening of the door to a fixed element of the frame of the latter, and in which one of the brackets 10 has a cylindrical pivot 15 and a stop flat 14, whilst the other bracket 20 is pierced with a passage hole 24 and likewise has a stop flat 25, the pivot 15 being engageable into said hole so as to allow the rotation of one bracket in relation to the other through a predetermined angle and stop contact between the flats, characterised in that the stop flat 25 of the pierced bracket 20 axially limits the flanks of a mounting mortise 28, one flank 26 of which is limited by an axial stop face 29 intended for blocking any relative displacement of the brackets in the direction of the axis of the pivot 15 over part of the angle of relative rotation between said brackets 10, 20.
