Abstract

A cabinet of the invention is constituted by two half-casings 1, 2 assembled together either directly or with the aid of ties 4. A trim strip 3 covers the assembly and is fixed either directly onto the half-casings or with the aid of ties 6. The use of ties for fixing the half-casings and the trim strip enables the cabinet to be ventilated. At least one of the half-casings 1, 2 includes a door which can be solid or constituted by a main door 10 and an information door 11. The main door defines in its thickness an information compartment closed by the information door. The information is presented either as a notice or as a luminous display, the information compartment containing either illumination means or means for controlling the luminous display. The information door includes a glass pane made from safety glass or from unbreakable transparent material.

Description

Wardrobe or cabinet for urban site
The invention relates to a cabinet, or cabinet, located on an urban site.

 Such a cabinet can be used to store small equipment or even be used for example for controlling traffic control lights; in the latter case it contains the electrical equipment necessary for said control.

 Cabinets installed on urban sites are usually made up of a metal box with a door, also made of metal.

 When it is desired to use a cabinet as an information medium, it is necessary to manufacture a cabinet specially designed for this purpose depending on whether the information is given either by posters or in the form of light messages, such messages also being able to change and follow one another to constitute information.

 The present invention aims to allow, from elements that can be mounted together, to constitute cabinets or boxes, which may or may not serve as an information carrier, which reduces the cost of the cabinets and offers great flexibility of employment.

 The subject of the invention is a wardrobe or box for an urban site, constituted by two half-boxes assembled together, a cover covering the assembly of the half-boxes, and at least one of the half-boxes comprising a door.

 In these figures, the same references have the same meaning and relate to the same parts.

 In these figures, a cabinet is made up of two half-boxes 1 and 2, assembled around their periphery, a cover 3 covering the assembly. Figure 2 shows an example of assembly between the half-boxes; each end of the half-boxes 1 and 2 is folded in the shape of a C, and the ends are connected together by a spacer 4 and a bolt 5; the hubcap 3 has its ends folded in a C shape and each end is fixed to a half-box by a spacer 6 and a bolt 7. This type of assembly by spacers is used whenever it is necessary to ensure ventilation of the interior of the cabinet; the spacers 6 provide a passage between the trim 3 and the half-boxes 1 and 2 and the spacers 4 provide a space between the half-boxes; the C-shaped ends of the half-boxes and the trim form baffles to avoid the introduction of rainwater into the cabinet, or solid particles (stones, paper). In Figure 2 the arrows show the air flow in the cabinet / exterior direction, but obviously the direction of circulation can be in the opposite direction, especially at the bottom of the cabinet for the arrival of fresh air.Of course it is possible to assemble the half-boxes without the spacers 4, if one does not wish to ventilate the cabinet, and the fixing of the hubcap 3 can be done either without spacers 6, or with spacers as in figure 2. When the cabinet must be ventilated, it is possible to adjust the spacing of the half-boxes using the spacers 4, so as to obtain more or less ventilation, this within the limits compatible with the dimensions of the hubcap 3 of course.

 The cabinet shown in FIGS. 1, 3 and 4 has two doors, a main door 10 and an information door 11.

 FIG. 1 shows the cabinet with the doors closed, the information door 11 being visible alone. A lock 12 on a vertical upright 13 of the cabinet allows the main door to be closed, or to be opened, and in this case the information door 11 remains integral with the main door 10. Locks 14 allow the opening and closing , from information gate 11 only. The lock 12 is preferably of a different type from the locks 14 which can both be of the same type.

The figure illustrates, only by way of example, the case of information by poster. To this end the information door includes a window made of safety glass or of unbreakable transparent material; inside the information door 11, two vertical slides 18, 19, disposed on each side of said information door, allow the introduction between said slides and the window of a sheet of transparent material 20; the slides 18, 19 do not occupy the entire height of the information door, which allows the said sheet to be released from the window to introduce or remove a poster between the window and the sheet 20. the bottom 17 of the main door, which also constitutes the bottom of the information compartment, comprises, integral with its upper part, a part 21, in the form of
V for example, which when the information door is closed, presses on the sheet 20 so as to apply the poster against the glass. The bottom 17 also serves as a support for lighting means 22, such as fluorescent tubes, for lighting the poster, if necessary.

 Of course, in the case of information by light display, of any known type, the sheet 20 is deleted and in the information compartment 16 the lighting means 22 are replaced by means for controlling the light display.

 Figure 4 shows the cabinet of Figure 1 with the main door 10 open; the cabinet is closed by a fixed bottom 23.

 FIGS. 1 to 4 show an example of a cabinet used as an information medium, having the effect of a main door 10 and an information door 11.

 The cabinet being made up of two half-boxes 7 it is possible to use two identical half-boxes, such as 2, and thus to have a cabinet whose opposite faces serve as an information medium. If you want a cupboard without information support, you must associate with the half-box 1, another half-box with a single metal door; it is also possible to combine two half-boxes each comprising a single metal door.

 The invention also makes it possible to substitute a half-box 2, therefore with an information medium, for a half-box having a simple metal door, while retaining the half-box 1 and possibly all that it supports.

 The invention therefore makes it possible to associate half-boxes of different types to constitute cabinets with or without information carrier, said cabinets having one or two information carriers, or one or two simple doors, depending on the layout of the cabinet, that is to say in particular if the two faces are accessible or not, or visible.

1 / Wardrobe or box for urban site, characterized by the fact that it is constituted by two half-boxes (1, 2) assembled together, that a trim (3) covers the assembly of the half-boxes, and that '' at least one (2) of the half-boxes has a door. 2 / Cabinet or box according to claim 1, characterized in that the door is constituted by a main door (10) and an information door (11), said main door defining in its thickness an information compartment (16) closed by said information carrier (11). 3 / Cabinet or box according to claim 2, characterized in that the information door comprises a window, two vertical slides (18, 19) and a sheet (20) of transparent plastic, the slides being arranged on each side of said information holder (11) and inside thereof, said slides having a height less than that of the information holder to allow the introduction of said sheet (20) between the slides and the glass, said sheet serving to hold against the window a poster inserted between it and the window. 4 / Cabinet or box according to claim 3, characterized in that the information compartment (16) comprises lighting means (22). 5 / cabinet or case according to claim 2, characterized in that the information door (11) is constituted by a means for displaying light information and that the information compartment (16) comprises means for controlling the display said light information.  6 / Cabinet or box according to claim 1, characterized in that the half-boxes (1, 2) have one end folded in the shape of a C, that they are assembled by said ends using spacers (4 ) providing an air passage between the half-boxes, that the hubcap (3) has ends folded into a C shape and fixed to the half-boxes (1, 2) by spacers (6) providing passages d air between the half-boxes and the hubcap, and that the folded ends of the half-boxes and the hubcap form baffles allowing the passage of air for ventilation of the cabinet, while opposing the introduction of rainwater or solid bodies into the cabinet.
