Abstract
Description
The present invention relates to an apparatus for manual washing of a vehicle which can be washed using a garden hose with or without a washing brush.
Traditionally, vehicle washing is done in two ways, automatic washing in service stations and hand washing using a sponge or brush. This latter procedure has several drawbacks: the friction of the brush or of the sponge necessary for cleaning is carried out by the user by movements of the arm back and forth.
By the general shape of the vehicles, these movements bring fatigue to the arm almost always stretched up or down; the user must approach the surfaces to be cleaned so that their movement is less painful and wet. He must therefore in principle protect himself from boots, suitable clothing, etc.
The device according to the invention overcomes these drawbacks.
The movement necessary for friction allowing cleaning is carried out automatically by the device in a circular manner, without unusual energy for this work. It has, in fact, a handle of about 40 cm and a housing equipped with a simple mechanism which captures the energy of the water pressure supplied by the Water Service, concentrates this energy on a turbine which transmits it by multiplying it with the washing brush, directing the water towards the action area of this brush.

The device of the rotating brush is shown in fig. 1 according to section AA therefore does not include a graphic representation of the sprinkler system which appears on plate 2/5. The water, coming from the garden hose connected to the device by a standard thread, enters the handle of about 40 cm and arrives at the nozzle orifice at the pressure delivered by the Water Service. The user acts on the knob (18) provided with a thread (10), the cynical needle (19) which closed the orifice (20) opens the passage or closes it according to the direction of rotation given to the knob adjusts the jet. The passage of water being allowed, the opening (20) oriented tangentially to the turbine, concentrates by its size and shape, the jet on the blades (13) of the turbine (2). This turbine starts to rotate very quickly. The shapes of the blades (13), their orientation, the centrifugal force and the orientation eject the strip against the walls of the device, the slides (7) and (15) then orient the water to the holes (25) of the body and (26) of the brush. The turbine is provided with a gear (14) which drives a pinion (3) at a lower speed here 1/3. The pinion (3) is fixed by a clip (4). The pinion (3) transmits its speed to the pinion (7) by the reduction gear (22). In the representation, the reduction set is 1/9 for speed. The transmitted force is therefore multiplied in proportion to the division of the speed. The brush (8) being fitted on the end piece, square (24) which makes it integral with the pinion (7) rotates at the speed thereof. It drives by the forms (and (12) water to the surface to be cleaned by the orifices (26). The ball (6) makes it possible to limit the friction of the pinion (7) on the axis (27) of the upper body (1) due to the support of the brush on the surface to be cleaned .
The parts constituting the device can be made of rigid or semi-rigid plastic, injection molding, except the ball (6) and the washer (5) made of metal and the bristles of brush which, depending on the variants of uses-particular professional, can be natural.
According to a variant of the transmission and dimensions, the device may include two or three or more brushes.
The two 1/2 bodies (1) and (9) will be assembled and sealed to the assembly by appropriate bonding to the plastic used and by self-tapping screws.
