Abstract

The present invention relates to a chair or an armchair which can be converted into a bed, comprising a basic frame consisting of two frame parts which are superposed in horizontal planes in the "chair or armchair" position and which move apart from one another in these same planes in the "bed" position, the frame part placed in the upper horizontal plane, equipped with an underframe, being articulated to two other underframe elements articulated to one another. The chair or armchair being characterised in that the frame part 2 which moves with respect to the other frame part 1 is guided with respect to the latter by a roller 20 which rolls in an inner groove 21 of a section 6 of this frame part 1, which roller is mounted on a transverse bar 16 which is securely fastened to two sections 17, each interacting, according to a telescopic assembly, with a section 18 securely fastened to the other frame part 2.
