Abstract

A first bed for one person has an underframe 1 supported by legs 2A, 2B, between which are mounted extension and retraction members which make it possible to store or to take out a second bed having an underframe 5 mounted on feet which have a variable height in the vertical direction, so that this underframe 5 can be raised to the level of the underframe 1 and so that both can be placed side by side to constitute a double bed, the second bed being stored under the first bed with its mattress and its bedding when a single bed is required.
