Abstract

This invention relates to an armchair which can be converted into a bed and vice-versa, consisting of a fixed frame and of three underframe elements articulated to one another and supporting a mattress, one end element 1 being articulated to the abovementioned fixed frame 5 to constitute, with the intermediate underframe element 2 in the folded-back position, a backrest and, with a second end element 3 articulated to the intermediate element, a seat, characterised in that the fixed frame 5 is open so as to make it possible to extract, from the latter and along a horizontal path, the second end element 3 which can be moved on castors 11.
