L'invention a pour objet des perfectionnements aux meubles transformables du genre des canapés-lits, c'est- à-dire aux meubles pouvant être utilisés, selon les posi- tions relatives données à leurs éléments constitutifs, soit comme canapés, soit comme lits.
Elle est relative plus particulièrement aux meubles du genre en question qui sont constitués essentiellement par une ossature et par quatre panneaux articulés succes- sivement l'un à l'autre et propres à venir dans un même plan de couchage en position lit, savoir un premier pan- neau articulé à l'arrière de l'ossature et propre à soute- nir un dossier en position canapé, un deuxième panneau articulé à des leviers de manoeuvre latéraux eux-mêmes

articulés à l'ossature et propre à reposer sur l'avant de celle-ci en position canapé et sur les leviers en posi- tion lit,
un troisième panneau propre à se placer au- dessus de l'avant du deuxième panneau en position canapé et un quatrième panneau propre à supporter une banquette au-dessus du deuxième panneau en position canapé, les divers axes d'articulation étant horizontaux et parallèles entre eux.
leur permettre aux susdits leviers de manoeuvrer les troisième et quatrième panneaux lors des mouvements imposas aux deux premiers, on a déjà prvu d'établir entre les quatre panneaux une transmissin à élément sou- ple (câble, courroie, chaîne ou analogue) passant sur des poulies liées à certains de ces panneaux et d'agencer ladite transmission de façon telle que l'ouverture mutuelle des deux premiers panneaux entraîne la mise en position horizontale du plan de couchage.
Les présents perfectionnements ont pour but notam- ment de remplacer cette transmission à lment couple par une transmission à éléments rigides.
Le meuble transformable conforme à l'invention est caractérisa principalement par le fait que les susdite panneaux sont reliés à l'aide d'au moins un jeu de trois bielles, savoir une première bielle relire, d'une part, par son extrémité arrière à la partie inférieure de l'avant du premier panneau, d'autre part aux extrémités corres- pondantes des deux autres bielles, les autres extrémités de celles-ci étant relises respectivement à l'articula- tion des deuxième et troisième panneaux et àla partie arrière du quatrième panneau. Les expressions telles que

"au-dessous", "en avant" et "en arrière" sont considérées par rapport au meuble en position lit.
L'invention consiste, mise à part cette disposition principale, en certaines autres dispositions qui s'utili- sent de préférence en semé temps et dont il sera plus explicitement parlé ci-après.
Elle vise plus particulièrement certains modes d'ap- plication, ainsi que certains modes de réalisation, des susdites dispositions; et elle vise plus particulièrement encore, et ce à titre de produits industriels nouveaux, .les meubles du genre en question comportant application de spéciaux ces marnes dispositions, ainsi que les éléments/ propres à leur établissement.
Et elle pourra, de toute façon, être bien comprise à l'aide du complément de description qui suit, ainsi que des dessins ci-annexés, lesquels complément et dessins sont, bien entendu, donnés surtout à titre d'indication.
Lesfig. 1 et 2, de ces dessins, montrent, en élva- tion latérale schématique, avec parties coupées selon I-I fig. 3, un canapé-lit établi conformément à l'invention, respectivement en position canapé et en position lit.
La fijt. 3 montre, en plan, le mécanisme de verrouil-. luge propre à maintenir le meuble en position canapé.
Se proposant d'établir un canapé-lit à couchage transversal, on s'y prend comme suit ou de façon analogue.
On constitue le canapé-lit par une ossature rigide 1 reposant sur le sol, par exemple par l'intermédiaire de pieds 2 à l'avant et de roulettes 3 à l'arrière, et par quatre panneaux 4, 5, 5 et 7 articulés successivement l'un à l'autre à l'aide d'axes horizontaux 8, 9 et 10, ces

panneaux étant propres à venir dans un môme plan horizontal de couchage en position lit (fig. 2).
Le premier panneau 4 eut articulé à l'ossature 1 à l'aide d'axes horizontaux 11 et il est propre à se placer à peu près verticalement pour soutenir un dossier 12 en position canapé (fig. 1). Le deuxième panneau 5 est arti- culé, d'une part, au panneau 4 par les axes 8 et, d'autre part, à des leviers de manoeuvre latéraux 13 par des axes 14, Les leviers 13 sont eux-mêmes articulés à l'ossatu- re 1 par des axes 15. Le deuxième panneau 5 est agencé de manière à reposer à peu près horizontalement sur une cale (ou tampon élastique) 5a solidaire de l'ossature 1 en position canapé (fig. 1) et sur les leviers 13 en postition lit (fig. 2).
Le troisième panneau 6 est arti- culé au panneau 5 par les axes 9 et il est agencé de manière à se placer à peu près verticalement au-dessus de l'avant du panneau 5, en position canapé (fig. 1). Enfin, le quatrième panneau 7 est articulé au panneau 6 par les axes 10 et il est agencé pour se placer à peu près hori- zontalement au-dessus du panneau 5 en position canapé (fig. 1) pour supporter une banquette ou coussin, de pré- férence amovible. Un écran 17, fixe à demeure sur le panneau 6, vient dissimuler l'ossature en position canapé (fig. 1), Les leviers latéraux 13 sont solidarisés entre eux par une tige ou tube rigide 32 (fig. 3).

Avec cette convention, on peut dire, par exemple, que l'axe 39 est situé à la partie arrière du panneau 7 (fig. 2), bien qu'en position canapé cet axe se trouve à la partie avant dudit panneau qui a alors tourna de 180 sur lui-même (fin. 1).
Pour amortir les chocs à l'ouverture vers la posi- tion lit, on peut prévoir, entre les panneaux 6 et 7, un ressort souple ou sandow 40.
On complète enfin le lit par un dispositif de ver- rouillage destiné à maintenir le meuble à sa position canapé.
Un tel dispositif est avantageusement constitué par deux crochets 41 solidaires d'un même axe transversal 42 portant une pédale 43. Les crochets 41 coopèrent chacun avec une saillie 44 portée par le panneau 6, L'axe 42 est monté, de chaque côté du meuble, sur un levier 13 ou sur un flasque 45 solidaire de l'autre levier 13 de façon à pouvoir oseiller par rapport à ces leviers avec une faible amplitude, un ressort 46 tendant à maintenir l'axe 42 dans la position correspondant à l'engagement des crochets 41 sur les saillies 44. Enfin, des ressorts 31, montes autour de l'axe 32, peuvent, en prenant appui sur l'ossature 1, solliciter les leviers 13 dans le sens qui facilite le déplacement du meuble vers la position lit.
Bien entendu, le meuble peut être muni d'accotoirs 47 et de tous autres éléments pouvant dissimuler le mécanisme et augmenter le confort du meuble.
En suite de quoi, on obtient un canapé lit dont le fonctionnement est le suivant.
En position canapé, le panneau 7 est situé

Le sadow 40, fixé en tension entre les panneaux 6 et 7, facilite le mouvement de fer- meture, Le verrouillage en position de fermeture est assuré enfin par les deux crochets 41 et les verrous 29 et50.
