Abstract

The tube (12) contains a valve (3) with its actuator (5,6,7) and extends between a container (1) opening (2) and a hypodermic needle (9), being used to transfer liq. from the container to a flask (11) under aseptic conditions. A further valve (13) injects steam into the tube, the needle and the tube end (15) being housed by an open cylindrical casing (14). A hollow piston (18) closes and seals the casing whilst locating the flask, being connected by a bayonet fastener (22,23,24), and moving forward whilst being made fast to effect the penetration of the needle into the flask opening (10). A valve (16,17) fitted to the casing provides for the evacuation of steam, entailing a steam-sterilising of accessible parts followed by needle penetration, valve actuation and transfer.
