Abstract

The gardening tool may be powered by an electric hand drill and has horizontal and vertical output shafts onto which a range of rotary gardening tools may be fitted. A tubular frame with handles and adjustable support rod carries the drill, the drive shaft and protective guards over the tools. A drive shaft runs the length of the tool and is carried in a tube which acts both as protective housing and central spine of the tool. The top of the shaft projects beyond the tube and can be fitted to the chuck of an electric hand drill. A protective cover fitted over the upper end of the tube covers the drill chuck. The lower end of the drive shaft carries a wormgear and a bevel gear, the worm gear driving the horizontal output shaft, and the bevel gear the vertical. The gears are enclosed in a casing, and a guard is fitted to the spine tube to protect the user.
