Abstract

The electric grill has a fold down front cover and two grill support plates which are hinged from the edge of the front cover to form a rack supporting the grill which is held vertically in front of the vertical electric heating element. The grill support plates have projections which operate microswitches ensuring that the power cannot be applied until the support plates are in place. The heating element is held vertically, and the grill is formed from two paralleled wire grids which clip together to trap the food between them. A handle is provided on one side of the grill, and the fold down cover forms a fat catching tray.
